Nick Reeve's Request Concert, 17th May 2009
This is the second concert that Nick and his friends have performed to raise funds for PCMT. The venue, as previously, was at the Shakespeare Globe Room at the Bedford Public House in Balham.

This time the Concert was based on requests for songs made by the ticket purchasers. The house was packed and we all enjoyed a great variety of music from the many artists who were taking part. As the evening moved on the audience joined in the singing as well, creating an excellent atmosphere. The evening raised a magnificient sum of £2500 for PCMT. - thanks to the generosity of the artists and the venue owners, who gave their time and services free and also to our concert goers for supporting the raffle very generously.

A special thank you to Nick, who organised and produced this super concert - a terrific effort. If you would like to know more about Nick and the venues he plays at, please visit www.nickreevemusic.com.

Flora London Marathon, April 2007

Rob James ran the London marathon in a heat defying 2 hours 36 minutes 10 seconds.

He placed 25th for his age category, and was 78th in the overall men's race.

If you did not get a chance to sponsor in advance of the race, you can still post a donation (to the Peter Culverhouse Memorial Trust) c/o Paul Donovan, 29 Essex Road, Leyton, London E10 6HP. Donations are all the more welcome as we have hopes of persuading Legal and General to match any sponsorship Rob receives.

Future / Retro Concert, Balham, May 2007
The Future / Retro Concert, organised and performed by Nick Reeve (pictured right) and friends, was a fantastic success, with standing room only. The evening raised a total of £4,236.00 - which has been split between the PCMT and the Kemet Foundation, giving £2,118.00 to each charity. Many thanks for all Nick's hard work along with the other artists appearing - a truly professional show which was very much appreciated and enjoyed by the audience.

Thames River Cruise, September 2006
The PCMT Champagne River Cruise almost lost its champagne before it had begun. Delivering the champagne to the Thames Barge "Will" on the Monday before the event, there was a moment when the trolley carry both cases tilted precipitously towards the edge of St KatherineŐs dock. For a moment, it looked as if two cases of Moet & Chandon champagne was going to topple in (and there is, of course, no hope of retrieving something - even champagne - from the bottom of St Katherine's dock). Fortunately gravity was on our side, and the generosity of Moet & Chandon (who donated the champagne gratis) was not wasted.

The day itself was one of the last sunny days of the summer, and perfect conditions for a trip along the river. All 50 places had been snapped up (technically there were 51 guests, but at 5 months Emily Wareham was not an active consumer of the champagne). It was about half way through the boarding process that the message came through that David and Yvonne Culverhouse, four other guests, all the raffle prizes and advertising material were somewhere on the A3 in a traffic jam. Tower Bridge had already indicated that they were not prepared to wait an additional half hour or so, and that the bridge was going to be raised precisely on time - which meant we had to cast off on time. Fortunately, DavidŐs intimate knowledge of the by ways of south London got the taxi through in time, and there was no need of implementing the contingency plans (which had focused, vaguely, on using a ship to shore cable and pulley system to get everyone on board after Tower Bridge).

The Bridge opened on time, the "Will" sailed through on time, and the journey east continued in full swing. We should say a huge thank you to the staff of Topsail, who coordinated the event for us and provided fantastic catering for the day. The raffle was a great success - though there was considerable bargaining over the Scottish hamper, subsequently.

Pictures of the day can be viewed here - including the group photo at the start, and the raising of Tower Bridge.

Overall the day raised over £2,500 through the generous contributions of all who attended, and the aggressive selling of raffle tickets by Mark. The PCMT owes a great deal of thanks to Caroline Warner of Moet for their generous sponsorship, to "3" for a raffle prize, and to Topsail for their fantastic organisation (and considerable patience with the PCMT organisers). The Topsail staff also very generously made a donation to the PCMT after the event. Finally, of course, thanks to everyone who came along, for their continued support of the PCMT.

New Years Eve 2004
The Annual New Year Dinner Party held at our local church hall went with a swing, thanks to the hard work and preparation of Sheila and Roy Donovan and Jenny and David King. The grand sum of £286 was raised on the Raffle which has been donated to PCMT. The remaining profit has been donated to the Asian Earthquake Disaster Fund.

A donation of £750 has been made by Logica directly to the Princess Alice Hospice, through their give-as-you-earn scheme in Peter's memory.

2nd July 2004: Legal & General Staff 'Jeans and Trainers Day'
The L&G 'Jeans and Trainers' day was highly successful and raised over £3000 in spite of a bomb scare at the Legal & General offices. Staff generously donated approximately £1500, which was doubled by the Company. Special thanks to Sandie Hunt, Bob Green, Tom Humphreys and other members of the L&G team who worked so hard.

New Year's Eve 2003
Sheila and Roy Donovan and Dave and Jenny King organised the New Year's Eve Dinner dance held at the local church hall. This is an annual event and about 60 friends attended and enjoyed a 3 course dinner with dancing to midnight. During the evening's festivities a raffle was held and over £400 was raised for PCMT.
